Πόσο καιρό έχετε να μπείτε στο MySpace λογαριασμό σας; Αν δεν έχετε ξεχάσει τον κωδικό σας, οι περισσότερες πιθανότητες είναι να τον έχετε παρατήσει, όπως συνέβη με εκατομμύρια χρήστες. Θυμάστε τον MySpace Tom; Τον πρώτο μας ιντερνετικό φίλο που «εγκαινίαζε» την εγγραφή μας στο μέσο κοινωνικής δικτύωσης;

O ιδρυτής του MySpace, Tom Anderson, από τη Σάντα Μόνικα της Καλιφόρνια, που εμφανιζόταν πρώτη μούρη στη σελίδα μας, δεν άντεξε τον ανταγωνισμό με το facebook του Mark Zuckerberg και πήρε μια απόφαση ζωής. Πούλησε τη θαυμαστή πλατφόρμα για 580 εκατομμύρια δολάρια στον οργανισμό Newscorp του Rupert Murdoch και αποφάσισε να αφιερώσει περισσότερο χρόνο στον εαυτό του. Ταξιδεύοντας ολόκληρο τον κόσμο.

Πλέον δεν έχει τσίτες, business plans και άγχη. Μια ματιά στον Instagram λογαριασμό του MySpace Tom και τα εντυπωσιακά του ταξίδια θα σας πείσει. Ένας εκατομμυριούχος που εκτός από εραστής της φωτογραφίας, έγινε εραστής της καλής ζωής. Στα 44 του, ο ιδρυτής του MySpace, μάλλον δε θα χρειαστεί να δουλέψει ξανά στη ζωή του. Και δείχνει να το απολαμβάνει. Από τα ενσταντανέ του Aurora Borealis στους καταρράκτες της Χαβάης και από τους ουρανοξύστες του Χονγκ-Κονγκ στη γραφική Βενετία, φροντίζει με κάθε επίσκεψή του στο χάρτη της Γης να σηκώνει και μια αναμνηστική καρτ ποστάλ. Iceland: On my first night aurora hunting! This was actually the first time I'd ever seen the Northern Lights with my own eyes. I'm amazed to report that it really can look this green and stunning with the naked eye -- no camera tricks! Adding to the excitement, we'd been warned of about 60km winds heading towards our location. As we watched nature's light show get better and better by the second, we knew we had to get out of there. After about 45 minutes, I made the difficult call to intentionally leave one of the coolest things I'd ever witnessed and drive 5 hours straight through crazy winds and snow to escape the life threatening storm heading straight for us. Can't wait to go back for more when the weather clears!!

After a month of lightning / storm chasing in remote locations, this happened outside my window in Vegas last night. I was relaxing / using my computer and kept noticing flashes on the window. I assumed it was momentary reflections in the glass for about 2 hours... Yes, I missed two hours of this lightning show that was occurring in plain view from my balcony! Doh-! It went on for hours though, so I was able to experiment and try different methods of capturing lightning I'd never tried, including longish 30 second shots that picked up multiple bursts. A fun Friday night :-)

I camped a few nights at this spot on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon earlier this month. I was in pursuit of lightning and storms and in this case I was right in the middle of it. Standing on this ledge 3000 feet up I started noticing a crackling sound when I lifted my tripod up. I thought I was going crazy for a minute until I tested and confirmed it a few times. Next I put the tripod down and lifted my arm into the sky and the same thing happened... Either I temporarily gained some superhero power I didn't know how to control or I think the static electricity in the air there was super intense. After the novelty wore off I started to consider that perhaps this meant I was a prime conductor for the lightning that was moving ever closer. I retired under a rock ledge and (as you probably guessed) made it out alive and unsigned :-) !!

Awesome view in Guilin, China. It's been raining so climbing up here was slippery and dangerous but what an amazing place! Stayed through sunset and saw the valley light up with fireflies in the dark... Truly a memorable evening :-)

Hiking on the Great Wall of China and a rain / lightning storm hit... I got separated from my friends and stayed in a guard tower for an hour or so before it passed. This shot is when the fog rolled in after the storm. Super awesome feeling out here alone :-)

Last night at 3am - Day 1 of a 14 day road trip! I drove up to Big Sur and used the lack of traffic to do a selfie in the middle of the Pacific Coast Hawaii. So beautiful at night; it was my first time, I still don't know what it looks like during the day! Gettin my Vietnamese on and Just made a Lee's Sandwich pit stop in San Jose!
